My journey into the literary space was triggered at the age of seven by my elder sister who outwitted me in eloquence and dubbed me ‘an undesirable element’ in reference to a bestseller written by the legendary novelist Mohammed Sule – who later became one of my literary mentors. I took her words as a challenge and delved into the world of reading and became a voracious reader.

My efforts began to pay off, when in 1986, I won an essay contest, ahead of my colleagues. This success was repeated a few more times, but I continued to learn and hone my writing skills through a number of Creative Writing courses. Largely inspired by the works of Nigeria’s prolific storytellers, Cyprian D. Ekwensi, Mohammed Sule, and a host of others, yet I developed and carved a niche for myself in the fantasy genre—I write epic and heroic fantasy.

My first novel Return To Ages was written in 1994 but was published in 2021. The story is set against the backdrop of magical realism— modernity verse tradition—Nothing happens by chance. There are unknown forces that direct our affairs. Nevertheless, because we are free moral agents we are responsible for the consequences of our actions whether our intent is for good or evil.

Despite being a writer, I am also an entrepreneur in the hospitality business. I am a Certified Management Consultant (CMC), Certified Professional Food Manager (CPFM), and Master Certified Foodservice Professional (MCFP).

I was born in the city of Kano on October 5, 1971, Idoma by tribe; a native of Orokam in Ogbadibo Local Government Area of Benue State, Nigeria. My hobbies include reading, listening to rhythms and blues music, cooking and playing with Children. I currently reside in Abuja, where I am working on other literary projects
