Welcome to HASOTEL BOOKS, our imprint dedicated to creative writers from Nigeria, and specifically seeking submissions of fresh African Literature for YOUNG READERS.
What We Seek:
FICTION
We eagerly seek African folklore, myths, and legendary stories portrayed through new and imaginative voices. Our focus is on tales that promote positive values, African culture, traditions, and foster a love for reading among young African readers.
Compensation:
Upon acceptance, we offer a publishing contract for selected works.
What We Accept:
- Picture Story (for ages 3 to 7)
- Short Story Book (for ages 7 to 10)
- Young Adult Fiction (for ages 12 to 17)
Submission Guidelines:
- Picture Story:
- Format: Double-spaced, 12-point size, New Time Romans font, as a Microsoft Word document.
- Word Count: Minimum 1000 words and maximum 3000 words.
- Graphic Illustrations: Feel free to include any relevant illustrations.
- Short Story Book:
- Format: Double-spaced, 12-point size, New Time Romans font, as a Microsoft Word document.
- Word Count: Minimum 6000 words and maximum 10000 words.
- Graphic Illustrations: Feel free to include any relevant illustrations.
- Young Adult Fiction:
- Format: Double-spaced, 12-point size, New Time Romans font, as a Microsoft Word file.
- Word Count: Minimum 12000 words and maximum 20000 words.
- Graphic Illustrations: Feel free to include any relevant illustrations.
Important Notes:
- We do not accept multiple submissions. Please inform us if your work has been accepted elsewhere for publication.
- The submissions window will open on 30th November, 2023.
